IT Continuity E2E Exercise Coordinator – Senior (IT Ops / Resilience)

As an IT Continuity Exercise Coordinator within the APS Service Availability and Resilience department, you play a key role in ensuring the Bank’s critical services remain resilient in the face of major incidents. You coordinate end-to-end IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises, working closely with technical and business stakeholders across tribes, group entities, and infrastructure teams.

You ensure that all foundations required for successful resilience testing are in place, and you act as a key facilitator during DR execution activities, including occasional night and weekend interventions.

What will you do?

  • Coordinate end-to-end IT Continuity and Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises across applications, infrastructure, and data centers
  • Ensure readiness of Critical Recovery Blocks (CRBs) and validate their preparedness ahead of exercises
  • Perform detailed capacity and dependency analysis across infrastructure components in both data centers
  • Collaborate with Tribe Resiliency & Continuity contacts to define scope, validators, and participating applications
  • Prepare exercise plans, including risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Build and maintain the Master Run Book (MRB), consolidating actions and requirements from all stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements (ECB, National Bank of Belgium, Group standards)
  • Act as facilitator during DR execution phases, including night/weekend interventions (approximately 3 exercises per year)
  • Produce clear post-exercise reports, including outcomes, issues, and improvement actions
  • Follow up on remediation actions and contribute to continuous improvement of resilience capabilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for several tribes on IT continuity and DR exercise topics

What do you bring?

  • 3–5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, resilience, or continuity roles
  • Strong understanding of IT environments such as Windows, Linux, Mainframe, Cloud, Middleware, Databases, or application landscapes
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder IT environments
  • Familiarity with Disaster Recovery, IT Continuity, or Service Availability practices is a strong plus
  • Experience with ServiceNow and MS Office tools
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess dependencies and risks
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams and drive structured execution of complex plans
  • Comfortable working under pressure, especially during live DR exercises
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proactive, curious, and continuously improvement-oriented mindset
  • Ability to make decisions and take ownership of coordination responsibilities
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and eager to share knowledge
