Solution Architect – Expert (Transversal Components / Banking / Enterprise Architecture)
As a Solution Architect within the Transversal Capabilities Tribe, you will design and deliver solution architectures for enterprise-wide platforms supporting critical banking services. You will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define scalable, secure, and future-proof solutions across API management, middleware, authentication, document management, cloud migration, and other transversal capabilities.
You will play a key role in shaping both project-specific solution architectures and the long-term target architecture while driving stakeholder alignment, architectural standards, and enterprise-wide best practices.
What will you do?
- Design and deliver solution architectures for a portfolio of strategic IT projects within the Transversal Capabilities Tribe
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solution architectures
- Guide stakeholders from ideation through architecture design and obtain buy-in for proposed solutions
- Contribute to the definition of target architecture, architectural standards, reference documents, and reusable design patterns
- Design solutions across transversal platforms including API gateways, middleware, portals, document management, archiving, authentication, and application logging
- Support initiatives related to multichannel customer context management and flexible authentication solutions
- Contribute to middleware simplification and modernization initiatives
- Design integration solutions for employee portals and content management platforms
- Support migration of on-premise applications to a private cloud environment
- Collaborate closely with architects, business stakeholders, development teams, and product owners within an Agile at Scale environment
- Ensure architectural consistency, governance, and compliance with enterprise standards
- Clearly communicate architectural decisions, risks, and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders
What do you bring?
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an IT Solution Architect
- Strong experience in Solution Architecture and enterprise application design
- Experience working with formal architecture frameworks and architecture modelling tools
- Solid understanding of functional and application architecture
- Experience designing enterprise integration solutions involving middleware, APIs, authentication, document management, or similar transversal platforms
- Experience supporting cloud transformation and migration initiatives, preferably towards private cloud environments
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to gather requirements, drive alignment, and obtain architectural buy-in
- Experience working within Agile at Scale organizations
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain architectural decisions in English
- Experience within Banking or Insurance is highly preferred; alternatively, experience in large multinational enterprise environments
- Autonomous, structured, and delivery-focused mindset
Languages
- English: Fluent (mandatory)
- Dutch: Good working level or
- French: Good working level
