OPS Security Engineer – Firewall & Proxy Filtering Services

As an OPS Security Engineer within the IT Production Security department, you will play a key role in securing and maintaining the organization's enterprise firewall infrastructure and network security services. Working within the Firewall & Proxy Filtering Services Squad, you will manage firewall requests, implement and optimize security policies, resolve production incidents, and ensure compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements.

You will act as a senior firewall security expert responsible for firewall administration, policy management, incident resolution, audit support, and network security operations. Working in an Agile environment, you will collaborate closely with infrastructure teams, security specialists, project teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient, and compliant network security services while contributing to operational excellence.

What will you do?

  • Manage the daily lifecycle of firewall flow requests, including validation, implementation, and documentation of firewall rules.
  • Implement, maintain, and optimize firewall configurations while ensuring compliance with internal security policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related production incidents and security policy issues.
  • Participate in infrastructure and business projects by providing firewall and network security expertise.
  • Perform firewall policy reviews, rule optimization, and continuous improvement of the security posture.
  • Analyse network traffic flows and provide detailed evidence for audits, flow recertification exercises, and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure firewall environments comply with internal security controls, enterprise security standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support security governance through detailed analysis of firewall configurations and network data flows.
  • Work with ServiceNow to manage incidents, changes, and service requests according to ITIL processes.
  • Contribute to automation and reporting activities using Excel, VBA, Python, or similar scripting technologies.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and project teams in an Agile environment to deliver secure network solutions.
  • Participate in on-call support and provide operational assistance outside business hours when required.
  • Promote security best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the Firewall & Proxy Filtering Services Squad.

What do you bring?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Firewall Engineering, Network Security, or Infrastructure Security.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise firewall environments.
  • Proven expertise with Palo Alto or Fortinet firewalls.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining firewall rules and security policies.
  • Strong knowledge of Firewall technologies, IPS/IDS, and Cloud Micro-Segmentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting firewall-related production incidents and supporting operational environments.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, security architecture, and network security principles.
  • Experience with ServiceNow (IT Service Management) for incident, change, and request management.
  • Experience automating reporting or operational tasks using Excel, VBA, or Python.
  • Experience supporting audit activities, flow recertification, compliance reporting, or security analysis is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Autonomous, proactive, structured, and customer-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call support and work in a production security environment.

  • English: Fluent (mandatory)
